Making A COLLEGE CURLIES hair regime

Making a hair regime and sticking to it in college is difficult and a lot of the time you may end up straying from that routine. So lets go over my regime and you can set up your own fool proof  regime to achieve your natural hair goals First you need the basics:

  • Friday- Pre-poo: lustrasilk's shea butter cholesterol, castor oil, a little bit of herbal essence hello hydration. (i tend to deep condition on dry hair overnight with a plastic cap and a hair bonnet on b/c of my busy schedule).
  • Saturday morning-Shampoo: Dr.Bronners Castile soap in Tea tree, My favorite: Shea moisture moisture retention shampoo.(Before i wash i do not detangle after the rinsing of the deep conditioner/pre-poo)
  • Saturday morning-Condition/detangle: I have been on the search for a two in one conditioner, and detangler.i have found it :)) Suave professionals almond and shea butter conditioner. GREAT SLIP (I detangle with water running down my hair shaft and i detangle with a wide tooth comb, then i take a shower, after im done i rinse with warm water)
  • Drying hair: Now this may not seem as important as the other steps but it definitely helps with frizz and friction. I use a cotton tee in order to dry my hair, gently pat  and then tie it around my hair like you would do a bandana)
  • Moisturizing Hair: This is a step where many naturals differ when it comes to products but many do agree on the order of how they moisturize. As soon as i get out of the shower i apply a liquid leave in that i concoct: made of Aussie moist conditioner, almond oil, water mostly, infusium 23, and s curl activatior. Now on to styling
  • Styling My Hair: When it comes to styling i can go either way, bantu knots, braids, twists, flat twists, but i love bantu knot outs when i want to where my hair closer to my scalp, and chunky twists when i want to achieve a elongated twist out.. i section my hair off with duck bill clips into about 10 or 11 bundles. then apply shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie to the section and shea oil, coconut oil,or organic root stimulator carrot oil on my ends. I put a scarf on my hair and let it air dry overnight..in the morning i unravel and blend the sections. from this point on you can design your hair however you like..dont know what to do exactly?..U TUBE!!!
  • THE IN-BETWEEN DAYS: i retwist on Wednesdays (no classes..yayy) and  only use my hair leave in concoction and put some type of light oil on the ends. I pineapple on days that i don't retwist.
I hope this was helpful and i will be posting a video later on about what products i use all of the time, the products i use sparingly, and products that i will to kick to the curb.
Have a nice natural hair day :))
